The Avon Mill was in Nevada Gulch just west of the Gilpin main line.  A two siding spur served the mine.  There was also an Avon Mine higher up on Quartz Hill.

The mill used amalgamation and concentration processes.  It had 1 jaw crusher, 30 stamps with outside amalgamation plates, 6 Gilpin County bumpers, 1 Wilfley table.  Output was somewhere between 60 and 200 tons.
