I originally became interested in the Gilpin Tram due to my interest in the Colorado Central, the 'other' railroad that served Black Hawk and Central City.   And that derived from the fact that I live only a couple  of miles from Beaver Brook Station (anyone with info about Beaver Brook and the dance pavilion please drop me a line), which was deep in Clear Creek canyon on the Colorado Central.
